Boston and New York 1900 Hardcover Very Good No Dustwrapper 
Royal 8vo (or small 4to) in full burgundy crushed Morocco leather with gilt borders on the covers, with floral device at each corner, board edges and turn-ins and also ruled and decorated in gilt. Raised spine bands with title and author in gilt. All edges gilt. Nice in grayish-blue swirls, low contrast colored, marbled endpapers. Engraved frontispiece and title page with tissue-guard, Some light rubbing to the edges and extremities. The leather has just been treated with special 'dressing' made for this purpose (it restores the natural oils to the leather which dries over the years) 578pp *there are very nice for reading because they used a large font size and format and they just will never make books like this again. Internals generally as new. 202179

Tall 4to in full green crushed morocco leather with a sailboat gilt-embossed on each cover and gilt spine titles. Designed by Christopher Sandford for the Golden Cockerel, and bound by Sangorski & Sutcliffe. Decorative rulling at the very edge of the leather / boards. Printed on Arnold's grey-green mould-made paper in 16 pt Bembo with Centaur initials by Bruce Rogers. 9 woodcut engravings by John Buckland Wright and full page map. Top edge gilt, others uncut. A number of engravings throughout. A touch of offsetting from the leather turn-ins at the very edge of the first free endpapers. Light even spine fading, with has bronwed slightly, and one or two minor spots along the gutters, where the top grain has rubbed off. Housed in clothbound slipcase with bevelled foredge. 202316
