4 4to volumes in full black leather with elaborate decorative blindstamping on front and rear covers, Title in gilt on cover and spine, 5 raised bandss with blind-ruled panels, white silk moire endsheets that have moderately stained with age. This copy marred with damp staing to most of the plates. All edge are gilt, I imagine it got wet and the paper used on the engraving being much more absorbanty took the water in. It is interesting to see how a plate page will have the damp stains and the adjacent pages will be unmarked. one of the cover was expretly reattached, one other volume has some rubbing to the top grain along the gutter but well attached and the others are no problem. The text pages are generally fine throughout and there is some measure of damp stain on almost every plate I have seen, some less than others, 019261
