Beautiful set marred only by some toning and aging/spotting to the covers. 2 4to volumes in beveled boards with white buckram over the bds. Gilt decorated boards, each having a different illustration and gilt titles, printed in 'vellum' type (rc) paper, there are 12 gravure plates per volume, beautifully printed on much thicker cotton-based paper stock each with a print impression surrounding the plate. each with a printed tissue-guard. top edges gilt, others uncut. the backings remain tight. Some of Copping's plates are haunting, all are beautifully executed. A charming example of turn of the century small or private press book arts. Contemporary name and bookplate on endpaper, small erasure hole on one endpaper, inner hinges started but firm. exceedingly scarce. 019206
