London 1936 Hardcover Very Good + No Dustwrapper Tall 4to, in full green buckram with leather title label on the spine. Contains a bibliography. Copiously illustrated throughout including tipped-in reproductions made using the original plates and title pages from the first 100 books issued by the press. Other sections cover the devices, fonts, text, titlepages, bindings (with photos in B&W) and illustrations, they used. A must have for serious Nonesuch collectors. This being copy 292/750 issued. The 2nd half of the book has charcoal gray paper with tipped-on insets. Article laid in talking about the archeological discovery of foundations of Nonsuch Castle in the UK, dated NY Time June 27th, 1959. There is some uneven sunning (and a few minor marks) to the covers and a light even spine fade. Some rubbing to the edges of the leather spine title. Otherwise fine. unpaginated, 202361

The second with 27 borderless plates on uncut paper *These have an fox mark or minor smudge (see scans) otherwise generally fine throughout. This being No 233/340 printed on Velin d' Arches paper. The slipcase and chemise are generally fresh condition,with some moderate rubbing to the calf labels, Both bound in light blue buckward. The chemise has cloth hinges. Both are very sturdy. 202539

N Y & Chicago 1959 Hardcover Very Good No Jacket Preliminary pages have been beautifully illuminated with decorations pages using various colors and metallic inks. PO has whited out a name on the ownership page. Illustrated throughout with Rembrandts inimitable drawings. The illustrations are printed on special paper, they are both in color and in Black & White, the color is done on a vellum paper and the b/w on a heavier paper stock. Has the 'Sermon of the Mount' as an illuminated manuscript with calligraphic lettering and beautiful decorative borders using gold metallic ink, this is located at the start of the New Testament. Book is bBound in leather type cloth, but doesn't feel like plastic at all. All edges gilt, Internals are Fine, Has beautiful symbolic device stamped in gold gilt on front board, Bevelled boards, 3 ribbon page markers. This copy has but minor wear at just the very extremities, otherwise it is Fine. A very nice item. The print is quite large as well making for easy reading. 004759
